Jackson Place Neighbors is an open online forum for people who live, work, or visit Jackson Place. It is run by the Jackson Place Community Council and is open to anyone with a connection to the neighborhood — you do not need to be an official JPCC Member to take part.

Request to join the neighborhood email list ↗

Opens the Google Form “Join the Neighborhood Email List” in a new tab. Requests are reviewed by the JPCC Board. Once approved you will be subscribed to neighbors <at> jacksonplace.org.

Community Guidelines

JPCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that advocates for and represents the interests of the Jackson Place neighborhood. To further these goals, JPCC operates online forums — email lists, Facebook Groups, Signal group chats — so that people connected to the neighborhood can talk with each other.

Under the JPCC Bylaws, “Members” are people who live in, own property in, or own a business in the neighborhood and are over 16 years of age. These forums are open more broadly than that. To foster a safe community, JPCC asks everyone taking part in an online forum or an in-person JPCC event to follow this code of conduct.

  • Be Kind — Assume good intentions when in discussions with others within and outside our community.

  • Communicate with Intention — Communicate using the appropriate channel for the content of your message. If you have serious concerns or criticisms, talk in person, email the JPCC Board (board <at> jacksonplace.org), or message one-on-one.

  • Protect Privacy — Do not disclose personal information about someone without their permission (sharing details about unauthorized activity in your private home or private business is acceptable). Refrain from sharing personally identifiable information about our unsheltered neighbors or members of the community who are suffering from behavioral health challenges in neighborhood public spaces.

  • Do no Harm — Do not engage in harassment, stalking, or abuse. Do not degrade, disparage, dehumanize, or discriminate against others in the community. Do not intimidate or attack the reputation of our neighbors.

  • Respect Boundaries / Seek Consent — Ask before touching, photographing, or otherwise engaging with other members in ways that may impose on their personal bodily autonomy. Avoid sharing graphic, disturbing, or potentially upsetting content in community spaces without appropriate mechanisms to protect individuals who might not consent to being exposed to certain imagery.

How these guidelines are enforced

The JPCC Board, and Members it designates, enforce these guidelines. When informed of a breach, and after fairly investigating it, the Board may choose to Warn, Communicate, Temporarily Suspend, or permanently Remove someone from our online communities, depending on the severity and frequency of the conduct violations.
